Dog-Friendly Walks in Shropshire, Right From the Farm Gate

One of the joys of staying at Abbey Green Farm is how easy it is to explore the surrounding countryside with a dog. Our corner of Shropshire is wonderfully unspoilt, offering quiet walks, open landscapes and plenty of space for dogs to enjoy being dogs.

Whether you’re camping with us for a few nights or staying longer, there’s no need to travel far to find rewarding walks.

From the farm

Gentle lanes and footpaths lead directly away from the farm, ideal for early morning or evening strolls. These walks are calm and unrushed, with wide skies, birdsong and very little traffic, perfect for dogs who prefer a quieter pace.

Woodland and mossland walks

A short drive brings you to a variety of woodland and mossland areas, where dogs can enjoy new scents and textures underfoot. These walks are especially lovely on cooler days and feel a world away from busy tourist routes.

Hills, fields and big views

For those wanting something a little longer, the surrounding Shropshire countryside offers open fields and gentle hills with far-reaching views. These are the walks that leave both dogs and owners pleasantly tired, ready for a relaxed evening back at the farm.

Dog-friendly camping at Abbey Green Farm

We welcome well-behaved dogs on our camping stays and aim to provide a peaceful environment where everyone, two-legged and four-legged, can relax. With space to roam, easy access to countryside walks and a calm atmosphere, it’s an ideal base for exploring Shropshire with your dog.

After a day out, it’s back to the farm for quiet evenings, fresh air, and contentedly snoozing dogs.
